Fresh from making the POVA 7Â in the Philippines last week, TECNO unveiled the Spark 40 series in Uganda, with the Spark 40 Pro+ debuting the Helio G200.
Starting with the Spark 40 Pro+, you get 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage, along with a 6.78-inch 144hz curved AMOLED display with a 1.5k resolution and a punch-hole for a 13-megapixel selfie camera. You also get a 50-megapixel rear camera, a 5200mAh battery that supports 45w wired and 30w wireless charging, IP64 rating, and Android 15 out of the box.
The Spark 40 Pro, on the other hand, has a flat AMOLED panel instead and lacks wireless charging. you “only” get a Helio G100 processor, but that shouldn’t be a big deal since the Helio G200 is just an incremental upgrade.
Finally, the Spark 40 gets a Helio G81 processor and a 6.67-inch 120hz IPS display with a HD+ resolution and an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. It has the same IP rating and battery as its more expensive siblings.
The Spark 40 is priced at UGX 479,000(~Php 8k), while the Spark 40 Pro is priced at UGX 679,000(~Php 11k). The Spark 40 Pro+ is priced at UGX 769,000(~Php 12k). Since the Spark series is positioned below the POVA series, we expect the Spark 40 series to have a lower price tag if TECNO plans on bringing them to the Philippines.
