The Dimensity 9200+ MIGHT Beat the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

While we’re waiting for more details about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is rumored to have a 3.7Ghz peak clock speed, MediaTek wants to make sure it can still keep up with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The Dimensity 9200 is a promising flagship-tier chip on its own, and the upcoming Dimensity 9200+ aims to be better.

A Geekbench 6 CPU result for the Dimensity 9200+ (presumably on a reference device) has surfaced thanks to Digital Chat Station, where it got a single-core score of 2121 and a multi-score of 5655. This makes the Dimensity 9200+ the first processor to break the 2000 barrier in single-core, outperforming the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered phones we got to test so far. The same goes for multi-core score, where the leaked Geekbench result is around 400 points higher than the Xiaomi 13 Pro based on our tests.

Compared to the regular Dimensity 9200, the Plus version has a higher-clocked Cortex-X3 prime core running at 3.35Ghz. (vs 3.05Ghz), while the Cortex-A715 performance cores are runing at 3.0Ghz (vs 2.85Ghz). There are no details yet about its Cortex-A510 efficiency cores, but it’s expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s N4P process.

MediaTek is expected to announce the new chip on May 10, and vivo is expected to be one of the first brands to use it for the X90S Pro, iQOO Neo8 Pro, and iQOO 11S.
