The Dyson Zone Makes Bane a Real-Life Character

When you mention Dyson, things that come in mind are the brand’s popular cordless vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, and their bladeless fans. Dyson is known for pushing innovation further, and their latest one is something one would least expect. Called the Zone, this new product from Dyson combines both the function of noise-cancelling headphones with a wearable air purifier.

The wearable air purifier comes in a form of an attachment that works with the headphones. Described as a miniaturized version of Dyson’s air purifiers, the Zone pulls air from the earcups of the headphones, and passes through a 2-stage purifier to ensure the user of clean air.

The design of the attachment–or “visor” as Dyson calls it–sits close to the face but does not touch the skin. The idea behind the design is to give the right amount of air to the user whether they are on the desk or exercising–on top of blocking uncleaned air from your nose and mouth. Using the visor with the headphones, Dyson claims up to 4 hours of battery life in minimum purification and 1.5 hours for maximum purification.

As for the headphones, they offer noise cancellation and is rated for up to 40 hours, with a 20-minute charge being able to top up its battery to 60%.

Dyson notes that while the Zone is not yet ready for the market, it plans to make it available later this year.
