WIKO has finally announced their first 5G phone in China, and it looks very similar to a certain phone in the Philippines.
WIKO is relatively a new brand in the Philippines, but they have been in different markets for years already, focusing on the budget segment. The brand does not have a phone with 5G connectivity, but that’s set to change with the WIKO 5G that was announced in China.
When we saw photos of it, we were scratching our heads because the WIKO 5G does look very familiar. Save for tweaks in its back panel design, it is identical to the nova 9 SEÂ that arrived in the Philippines early this year. The biggest difference, however, is that the WIKO’s offering uses a Snapdragon 695 processor, which does come with 5G connectivity and is more powerful than the 4G-only Snapdragon 680 used on the nova 9 SE.
Aside from that, it comes with HarmonyOS out of the box–again, the WIKO 5G was announced in China, so there’s a good chance that it might NOT use HarmonyOS when it becomes available outside of China–more on that later.
Being similar to the nova 9 SE, you get the usual features like a 108-megapixel main camera, 66w charging, and a 90hz Full HD+ IPS display.

The WIKO 5G is priced at CNY 1999(~Php 16k) for the 128GB version and CNY 2199(~Php 17.6k) for the 256GB version. That’s roughly a Php 3k markup from the nova 9 SE for having a better processor that has 5G connectivity.
While it was announced in China for now, we got word that the WIKO 5G MIGHT be made available in the Philippines, though there is no definite release date yet.
