The Galaxy J4 Core is Samsung’s Second Android Go Phone

It is a budget phone with a big display

Samsung silently launched a new Android Go with the Galaxy J4 Core. A higher-end version of the previously announced Galaxy J2 Core, the Galaxy J4 Core sports a 6-inch HD+ TFT display, a 3300mAh battery, and 16GB internal storage.

The rest of its internals are typical of entry-level phones: 1.4Ghz Exynos 7570 Quad-Core processor, 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel f/2.2 rear camera, and 5-megapixel f/2.2 front camera. It comes with a Go version of Android 8.1 out of the box. Price and availability are not available as of this writing.

Eagle-eyed readers will notice that for both Android Go phones, Samsung used a TFT LCD panel instead of the usual AMOLED display. This will hold true with future Galaxy phones, as some Galaxy A series and Galaxy M series (the new series that will merge the Galaxy J, On, and C series) will use LCD panels to cut costs.
