After it brought over the S23 to the Philippines as an under Php 6k budget phone with 256GB internal storage, itel followed that up with the S23+, which was unveiled in Ethiopia. while the S23+ is also a budget phone, its main selling point is that it features a 6.78-inch Full HD+ Curved AMOLED display and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Considering that itel is a budget brand, it is incredible to see that budget phones can have a curved AMOLED display–even if it’s just a normal 60hz refresh rate.
The S23+ boasts of a 32-megapixel selfie camera and a 50-megapixel main camera and comes in 4GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB models. It comes with Android 13-based itel OS 13 that the brand claims is all-new–we hope it has less bloatware, which is something that we have noticed with most phones under the Transsion group.
Similar to realme’s C5x phones, the S23+ has a Dynamic Island-like feature, though it claims more functionality that realme’s Dynamic Capsule iteration. Other features of the S23+ include a 5000mAh battery with 18w USB-C charging, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. There’s no mention of the processor, but we presume that the S23+ might be using a Unisoc T616 processor.
itel did not give details regarding pricing, but given that their offerings do not cost more than Php 10k in the Philippines, it will be very impressive if they can price the S23+ at under Php 10k.
