UPDATE: We were told that the NVIDIA RTX 4070 reference card will retail for Php 40590

If you’ve been itching to upgrade to the Ada Lovelace-based RTX 40-series but still find them expensive, NVIDIA has announced the RTX 4070, which is the most affordable in the lineup with a starting price of $599 or around Php 33k.

For that price, the RTX 4070 promises top-notch gaming at 1440p with the highest resolution, with NVIDIA claiming that you can hit over 100FPS on titles like Plague Tale: Requiem, Dying Light 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, and other demanding titles with DLSS 3.

DLSS 3 is NVIDIA’s latest AI-powered frame generation feature that creates new, high-quality frames for smoother gameplay. Like NVIDIA’s RTX 40 line of GPUs, the 4070 offers improved performance in ray tracing through features like Shader Execution Reordering (SER), cutting-edge Opacity Micromap, and Displaced Micro-Mesh Engines.

Compared to the RTX 3080, NVIDIA claims that the RTX 4070 is 1.4x better with DLSS 3 enabled, while being on par with it with rasterized games while running roughly half the power and offering 2GB more memory. Speaking of the latter, the RTX 4070 comes with 36MB L2 cache and 12GB GDDR6X memory.

When it comes to content creation, NVIDIA claims that the RTX 4070 is around 2.8x better than the RTX 3070Ti when it comes to rendering 3D models in 4K using DLSS 3. It offers as much as 20% faster video export speed, and has support for the AV1 codec, which offers as much as 40% better efficiency when it comes to livestreams.

The RTX 4070 is available, with brands like ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY and ZOTAC set to offer their own version soon.
