ASUS has made a name for itself with its Duo series of dual-screen laptops, and it is stepping up its game this year with the unveiling of the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16. As one of its biggest models under the Duo line, ASUS is offering two display options for the Zephyrus Duo 16.
The first option is a ROG Nebula HDR panel, which is a 16-inch QHD Mini-LED panel with a 165hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage, on top of being Pantone certified and having support for Dolby Vision. The second option, which is dubbed ROG Nebula Dual Spec, is an IPS-level panel that can switch between 4K 120hz or Full HD 240hz depending on the user’s needs. Like the first option, the Dual Spec option is Pantone Certified, supports Dolby Vision, and is Pantone Certified.
The Zephyrus Duo 16’s secondary display is a 14.1-inch 4K IPS-level ScreenPlus touchscreen display that has native stylus support. New to its design is that the ScreenPad Plus automatically rises to match and stays put at a 13-degree angle thanks to a four-directional hinge. The 28.5mm free space between the screen and chassis is used by the AAS Plus 2.0 system for improved airflow.
Like its predecessors, the Zephyrus Duo 16 offers the latest and most powerful hardware out there, with configuration options of up to a Ryzen 9 6980HX processor, RTX 3080 Ti GPU, up to 64GB DDR5 RAM, and up to 4TB PCIe 4.0 SSD in a RAID 0 array. Aside from the updated airflow, the Zephyrus Duo 16 uses Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal to manage CPU and GPU temperature and help the gaming notebook maintain its max TGP of 150w.
The ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 will be available for purchase later this year.
