To kick off CES 2022, Samsung revealed that it will unveil three new monitors that comprise the Odyssey Neo G8, Smart Monitor M8, and UHD Monitor S8. The main headliner among the three is the Odyssey Neo G8, as it pushes boundaries by being the first gaming monitor to offer both 4K resolution and a 240hz refresh rate. It also boasts of a 1ms response time and support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync.

The Odyssey Neo G8 has a 32-inch curved panel with a 1000R curvature and makes use of Samsung’s Quantum Mini LED tech. Samsung said that the tech, combined with its Quantum Matrix image quality control, lets the Odyssey Neo G8 achieve a maximum brightness of 2000 nits, along with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 4096 steps in brightness control. The port selection consists of two HDMI 2.1 ports and a DisplayPort 1.4 port, and the Odyssey Neo G8’s CoreSync features dynamically adjust the RGB lighting on the back of the monitor to match the screen’s contents.

The Smart Monitor M8, on the other hand, gets an upgrade by being slimmer than its predecessor and now having a dedicated webcam that can be attached or detached magnetically. The webcam has native support for Google Duo, which comes pre-installed by default.

Like its predecessors, the Smart Monitor M8 has pre-installed apps, allowing you to use it on its own without any source. Its 32-inch panel comes with a UHD resolution and supports wireless remote control via Samsung SmartThings. Its USB-C port supports 65w passthrough charging, making it ideal for your laptop or any other mobile device.

Rounding up Samsung’s CES 2022 monitor announcements is the UHD Monitor S8, which comes in 27-inch and 32-inch models–both having a UHD resolution. Geared towards content creation, they are the first monitors to be certified as glare-free by Underwriters Laboratories.

The UHD Monitor S8 supports 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, along with being certified for VESA DisplayHDR600. It also comes with a LAN port and a USB-C port that supports 90w passthrough charging.

All three monitors are slated to launch by the first half of 2022.
