The Sharp Aquos zero6 is a Mid-Range Phone with a 240hz Display

If the Aquos R6 is too extravagant for you with its huge 1-inch sensor and Leica optics, Sharp announced a more toned-down version in Japan with the Aquos zero6.

Sharp Aquos zero6 Specs:

  • Snapdragon 750G processor
  • 8GB LPDDR4X RAM
  • 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, expandable via MicroSD
  • 6.4-inch Full HD+ IGZO OLED quad curved display, 240hz variable refresh rate, 10-bit color, Gorilla Glass Victus
  • 48-megapixel f/1.8 main camera, 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera; ToF sensor, Laser Autofocus, ProPix3 image processing
  • 12.6-megapixel f/2.2 selfie camera
  • 4G, 5G
  • WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, in-display fingerprint scanner
  • IPX5/68 rating
  • 4010mAh battery
  • Android 11

While it is smaller than the Aquos R6, the Aquos zero6 retains the insane 240hz refresh rate on its 6.4-inch IGZO OLED display. It comes with a Snapdragon 750G processor that is paired with 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and a 4010mAh battery. Despite those specs, Sharp touts the zero6 as one of the lightest 5G-ready phones with a screen larger than 6-inches and a battery larger than 4000mAh at 146g.

Unlike the R6, the zero6 settles for a more conventional triple rear camera setup that consists of a 48-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel telephoto camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a ToF sensor. It adds Laser Autofocus for faster focusing speeds and ProPix3 for better image processing.

Sharp Aquos sense6 Specs:

  • Snapdragon 690 processor
  • 4GB/6GB RAM
  • 64GB/128GB storage, expandable via MicroSD
  • 6.1-inch Full HD+ IGZO OLED quad curved display, 120hz variable refresh rate, 10-bit color
  • 48-megapixel f/1.8 main camera, 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera; ProPix3 image processing
  • 8-megapixel f/2.2 selfie camera
  • 4G, 5G
  • WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, in-display fingerprint scanner
  • IPX5/68 rating
  • 4570mAh battery
  • Android 11

For those looking for a more compact 5G phone, Sharp has the Aquos sense6. This phone is powered by a Snapdragon 690 processor that is paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage, and has a bigger 4570mAh battery. The panel used is a 6.1-inch IGZO OLED variety with a still-fast 120hz refresh rate and support for 10-bit color.

While the selfie camera is downgraded to 8-megapixels, the sense has the same triple rear camera setup of the zero6–but omits the ToF sensor and Laser Autofocus sensor.

The Aquos zero6 will be available in Japan on October via SoftBank, while the sense6 will be available from mid-November via DoCoMo.
