After it was announced in China a few weeks ago as the S12 series, the China-only vivo phones are now official in India as the V23 and V23 Pro. Like their China-only counterparts, both phones highlight a premium metal and glass build and a best-in-class selfie camera.
The Fluorite AG glass used on both phones have a soft, matte finish, and the special Sunshine Gold has color-changing characteristics when exposed to sunlight for up to 5 to 6 minutes.

The V23 Pro has practically the same set of specs as the S12 Pro in China. That means you get a Dimensity 1200 processor, 50-megapixel selfie shooter with eye autofocus, 6.56-inch Full HD+ 90hz AMOLED display, 108-megapixel main rear camera, and a 4300mAh battery with 44w wired charging. The most obvious difference is with the software, as the V23 Pro uses FunTouch OS 12 instead of OriginOS.
Unlike with the V23 Pro being practically similar to the S12 Pro in China, the V23 is not a carbon copy of the S12 in China. The key differences lie in the processor and main camera: the V23 feels more like a downgrade to the S12 with its Dimensity 920 processor and 64-megapixel main rear camera.
The vivo V23 is priced at RS 29,990(~Php 20.7k)Â for the 8GB/238GB model and RSÂ 34,990(~Php 24.1k) for the 12GB/256GB model, while the V23 Pro is priced at RS 38,990(~Php 26.8k) and RSÂ 43,990(~Php 30.3k) for the same RAM/Storage variants. The V-series is usually made available in the Philippines, so expect both phones to arrive at our shores soon.
