The vivo X Fold+ is a Refined Version of the Galaxy Z Fold4 Rival

It has only been 5 months since vivo entered the foldable space with the X Fold, and the brand has unveiled a more refined version with the X Fold+. This iterative model gets a new Huaxia Red color and has a few improvements to make it a strong rival against the Galaxy Z Fold4–provided that vivo decides to make it available outside of China.

So what has changed with the X Fold+? For starters, it uses a better Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor that’s manufactured using TSMC’s 4nm process, so it should get better thermal management and power efficiency compared to the Samsung-made, non-plus version that’s found on the OG X Fold. While it has roughly the same dimensions, vivo managed to add a bigger 4730mAh battery inside the X Fold+, along with increasing wired charging speeds to 80w and still keeping wireless charging speeds at 50w.

Save for those differences, the X Fold+ retains some key features that make it better than the Galaxy Z Fold4 on paper: that includes incorporating under-display fingerprint scanners on both the 6.53-inch secondary display and 8.03-inch main display. Both displays are E5 AMOLED and support up to 120hz variable refresh rate with LTPO tech. The rear camera setup is also stacked, as you get a 50-megapixel GN5 main camera, 48-megapixel IMX598 ultra-wide-angle camera, and two telephoto cameras: a 12-megapixel IMX663 with 2x optical zoom and an 8-megapixel periscope camera with 5x optical zoom–all four cameras featuring ZEISS’ T* lens coating.
