After we spotted the 5G version of the vivo Y36 in Malaysia, vivo Philippines confirmed that we are getting the 4G version. There’s a teaser page on the Y36 at vivo’s official website in the Philippines, revealing some key specs.
Like the Y35, the Y36 will be powered by a Snapdragon 680 processor that’s paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. You also get a 5000mAh battery inside, along with support for vivo’s 44w FlashCharge.
vivo went for a more straightforward dual rear camera setup with the Y36, where you have a 50-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Despite looking similar to it’s predecessor, the Y36 features an IP54 rating—a rare feature on any mid-range vivo phone—which should give you peace of mind I’m case of accidental splashes.
The biggest upgrade the Y36 has over the Y36 is it’s display, where the 6.44-inch 90hz IPS panel now has a punch-hole to give it a modern look. The display is also more responsive with its 240hz touch response rate, making the Y36 perform better when it comes to games.
