The W2019 is Samsung’s Follow-Up to Last Year’s Luxe Flip Phone

It remains exclusive in China

Clamshell phones are still a thing in China, and Samsung launched a successor to last year’s W2018 with the W2019. While you get the same dual 4.2-inch Full HD Display setup, you get a metal-and-glass-build and more powerful internals with the W2019. These include a Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB RAM, and 128GB/256GB RAM. There’s a dedicated Bixby button on the side and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

As for the cameras, it borrows the same dual-rear camera setup found on the Galaxy S9+ and Galaxy Note 9: Dual 12-megapixel cameras with a f/1.5 and f/2.4 aperture on the primary camera, and 2X optical zoom on the secondary camera. The W2019 has OIS and can record 4K video at 60FPS.

Like its predecessor, the W2019 comes with a hefty price. At CNY 18,999 (~Php 145.1k), it is one of the most expensive smartphones out there. That price also gets you value-added services such as phone disinfection, and software fixes.
