We suppose it was only inevitable that we would make a complete PC so tiny that it would fit in an SD Card. And that’s what Intel’s Edison is – it’s a tiny, tiny computer for next generation of wearable and connected devices. The computer is built on the company’s 22nm transistor technology, uses the Linux OS, has a built-in WiFi and Bluetooth module and even has it’s own app store.

To entice companies and developers to make devices and apps for the Edison, Intel announced the “Make it wearable” contest, and are offering up a bounty of up to $1.3 million in prizes for developers who make wearable tech. No full details of the contest is available as of yet, but the first prize winner would get a cool $500,000 prize.
