Upcoming Xperia Phone to have Eight Cameras

Two in the front, six in the back

Remember that leaked render of an Xperia phone with six rear cameras? Sony appears to be serious with it. In fact, the upcoming Xperia phone will have two front cameras, giving it a grand total of eight cameras—more than what the Nokia 9 PureView has to offer.

The latest leak details on the specs of each camera. For the front, you will be getting a 10-megapixel main camera and a 0.3-megapixel Time of Flight (ToF) camera. Going to the back, it will have two cameras with a variable f1.2/2.4 aperture—one being a 48-megapixel snapper and the other a 12-megapixel one. Accompanying them is a 20-megapixel, 16-megapixel, and 8-megapixel snappers—all three having an f/2.4 aperture, and a 0.5-megapixel ToF sensor.

It is not clear as to how all of those cameras will function, but it is nice to see Sony go out of the box with its upcoming Xperia smartphones.
