Viral Fridays: Razer’s Project Valerie – A Gaming Laptop with Three Screens

Welcome to Unbox’s “Viral Fridays” where we feature weirder than usual tech and geek related news to cap out the week.

The yearly Consumer Electronics Show is a venue for all sorts of wild and wacky gadgets and technologies. This year’s expo, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, has barely started and already, we’re seeing nutty, next-gen stuff from the heavy hitters. Razer’s Project Valerie is part of that infamous list – a prototype gaming laptop with three displays. The more, the merrier, right? For gaming, absolutely!

In a nutshell, Project Valerie, at least at the prototype stage, is a Razer Blade Pro with two more screens. These displays are 17.3-inch, UHD (3840 x 2160) IGZO panels with NVIDIA’s G-SYNC and Surround View technologies. Wowza.

Like the Razer Blade Pro, this monstrous laptop is powered by an Intel i7 quad-core mobile CPU, NVIDIA’s GTX 1080, and runs with a buttload of RAM. Since Project Valerie is just a prototype, consumer models (if it ever sees the light of day again after CES) will most likely run a different, but still top-tier configuration. Mayhaps an additional GPU in SLI to properly handle UHD gaming with three monitors? That should be the next logical step.

If Project Valerie does take off and become consumer ready, expect an equally crazy price tag to bag one. With the latest Razer Blade Pro starting at a hefty $3700 (~Php 185K), the pricing on a Project Valerie laptop is definitely going to be astronomical.
