vivo Malaysia recently listed the upcoming V21 smartphone with its Night Selfie system. The new phone is pegged at delivering the best selfies no matter the lighting condition, including low light, with the company claiming it can shoot the “perfect” night selfie.
According to vivo’s own microsite for the soon to be launched phone, the selfie camera is a 44-megapixel selfie unit that can take photos in very low-light situations with little noise thanks to its AI Super Night Algorithm. Additionally, the camera also has OIS built-in, which further helps reduce blur and shakiness that’s associated with shooting at low light. While adding OIS in cameras isn’t new, it’s usually not put in selfie cameras because of the cost and complexity that it adds to the module. The main 64-megapixel main camera that headlines the triple camera module on the rear also has OIS as well.
For its memory configuration, the vivo V21 gets 8 GB of storage that apparently can be “extended up to 3 GB to help keep your apps running without lag” according to vivo. It’s not yet clear what that exactly means, and we’re hoping vivo can further elaborate on the feature when they officially announce the phone.
For the phone’s design, the company focused on keeping the device’s body slim, making this potentially the slimmest 5G smartphone by vivo to date. The vivo V21 will be offered in two colors, one of which has a blue gradient, alongside the night selfie system. The site also lists that the phone will have dual 5G sims slots.
