vivo X90 Pro+ Scores 140 in DxOMark, Enters Top 10

The vivo X90 Pro+ impresses once again, this time in camera performance as it enters the top 10 of DxOMark.

It’s quite unfortunate that the vivo X90 Pro+ might not be made available outside of China. Aside from being the top-performing phone in AnTuTu as of December 2022, the X90 Pro+ also has a great set of cameras to boot. DxOMark recently tested the X90 Pro+, and gave it a score of 140. This puts the X90 Pro+ in 10th place, tied with the Pixel 7. This also marks an improvement over the X80 Pro, which scored 137 last year.

To recap, the X90 Pro+ does have a stacked camera setup that consists of a 1-inch IMX989 for the main camera, an IMX508 for the ultra-wide-angle camera, IMX758 for the telephoto camera, and a 64-megapixel periscope camera–with all four cameras benefitting from ZEISS’ T* lens coating.

Lauding the hardware found inside the X90 Pro+, DxOMark notes that it is a significant evolution over the X80 Pro last year. The biggest improvement lies in the 1-inch IMX989 sensor, which does a great job of managing image noise and exposure. DxOMark adds that the X90 Pro+ can still improve with color accuracy, as it tends to render dark skin tones inaccurately at times, along with indoor lighting and low light shooting conditions.

Beyond the main camera, the X90 Pro+ has a versatile camera setup with its 14mm equivalent ultra-wid camera and two telephoto cameras that have a 50mm and 90mm focal length equivalent. Regardless of what camera is being used, DxOMark commends the consistent detail quality across all four cameras. In fact, the X90 Pro+ has the second-best telephoto performance next to the HONOR Magic4 Ultimate.
