Unboxing the Westone Adventure Series Alpha

Today we’ll be unboxing Westone’s Adventure Series Alpha headphones. These earphones are aimed at the active crowd who doesn’t allow mother nature spoil their fun.

The Series Alpha headphones comes in a small package. After you tear open the seal on the top, you’ll see the actual headphones in a hard plastic blister on a plastic frame.

Along with the headphones, you’ll also be getting a user’s manual, a snazzy waterproof case as well as several foam headphone tips, as well as a wax removal tool lol.

The buds of the Adventure Series Alpha uses a magnesium unibody design that gives it additional strength and ruggedness for Bear Grylls wannabees. It’s IPX-3 water resistant, which means it can stand up to rain without any ill effects. The headphones also has inline controls that allow the user to control the volume of the music that they’re listening to. The design of the headphones closely resembles the company’s other in-ear monitor offerings, and promises to provide maximum comfort during use.

The headphones themselves are hand-assembled in Westone’s Colorado facility, and it shows. The craftsmanship evident in the pair that we have leads us to believe that Westone is dead serious about audio.

The cables of the Adventure Series Alpha are have reflective strips built into them, which ensures better visibility in low-light and adverse lighting conditions.

While we’re not done with our review yet, the Westone Adventure Series Alpha’s sound quality is pretty awesome. This is probably due to Westone’s proprietary Extended Range 6.5mm Micro Driver with PST (Precision Surface Tuning) that powers the headphones. Sound is pretty smooth, and the bass, while powerful, didn’t overwhelm.
