Xiaomi 12T Series Rumors: Based on the Redmi K50 Ultra?

Following the launch of the Redmi K50 Ultra last August in China, it was only a matter of time before Xiaomi will make it official globally. Confirming previous speculations, the Redmi K50 Ultra will be the basis for the upcoming Xiaomi 12T series. Unlike with other Xiaomi/Redmi/POCO phones, the Xiaomi 12T series will not be a straight copy of the Redmi K50 Ultra.

To consist of two models just like its predecessor, there will be a vanilla and Pro variant, and the differences between the two models are very minimal. The vanilla Xiaomi 12T will have a Dimensity 8100 Ultra processor and a 108-megapixel main rear camera. We presume might be the same one used on the Xiaomi 11T series.

The Pro model, on the other hand, gets a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and a 200-megapixel main rear camera with OIS and a bright f/1.69 aperture. We presume that the sensor the Xiaomi 12T Pro will be using is the ISOCELL HP1–the same one found on the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra. This should make the Xiaomi 12T Pro the second phone to use a 200-megapixel camera.

Since the Xiaomi 12T series will be based on the Redmi K50 Ultra, you will also get a 6.67-inch 120hz AMOLED displays with an unconventional 1.5k resolution, a 5000mAh battery with support for 120w charging, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 20-megapixel selfie shooter.

As for pricing, the Xiaomi 12T Pro will reportedly start at 850 Euros(~Php 48.6k), while its vanilla sibling will start at 650 Euros(~Php 37.2k). That makes both phones significantly more expensive than its predecessor, so it remains to be seen how Xiaomi will make the 12T series competitive.
