The Snapdragon 8 Elite is fresh from its launch, and Xiaomi is the first to formally unveil a phone using the 2025 flagship chip with the 15 series in China.
That being said, let’s start with the Xiaomi 15, which is a compact flagship with a 6.36-inch Flat OLED display that has bezels that are extra skinny at 1.38mm. It is a 120hz LTPO panel with a peak brightness of 3200nits and uses an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The display is protected by Xiaomi’s Dragon Crystal Glass. Despite its size, you’re getting a significantly larger battery at 5400mAh that supports 90w wired, 50w wireless, and 30w magnetic wireless charging.
For the cameras, the Leica-branded setup consists of three 50-megapixel snappers: a Light Fusion 900 sensor for the main camera with OIS, a ISOCELL JN1 sensor for the ultra-wide camera, and a ISOCELL JN5 sensor for the telephoto camera with up to 5x lossless zoom, floating focus, and OIS. You also get up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage, a 32-megapixel OV32B selfie camera, and an IP68 rating.
Moving to the Pro version, you’re getting a bigger 6.73-inch 2K OLED display with a micro-curved design and also has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and Xiaomi Dragon Glass. The battery is huge at 6100mAh, and it uses an IMX858 sensor for the telephoto camera which offers 5x optical zoom and 10x lossless zoom. The Pro also adds satellite connectivity, which might explain why it’s not made to be available outside of China.
The Xiaomi 15 starts at CNY 4499(~Php 37k) for the 12GB/256GB variant. The Pro model, on the other hand, starts at CNY 5299(~Php 44k) for the same 12GB/256GB variant. If we follow the trend from the 14 series, we only expect the Xiaomi 15 to be made available globally.
