There’s still a market for a bang-for-the-buck tablet
Despite the tablet market rapidly contracting the past few years, Xiaomi has announced their newest tablet: the Mi Pad 3. Just like its older siblings, the new tablet brings refreshed specs for very little money.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 3
- MediaTek MT8176 hexa-core processor
- 4GB of RAM
- 7.9-inch IPS display, 1536 x 2048 resolution
- 64GB of non-expandable storage
- 13-megapixel rear camera, f/2.2 aperture lens
- 5-megapixel front camera, f/2.0 aperture lens
- WiFi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C Connector
- 6600mAh battery
- MIUI8
First off, the tablet still has a metal body much like the Mi Pad 2 that was launched two years ago. Sporting a 7mm body, 7.9-inch 1536 x 2048 resolution display and and an overall weight of 328g, it’s still as handy as the previous generation.
Inside, Xiaomi has elected to go with a new MediaTek MT8176, a hexacore processor running two 2.1GHz high-performance Cortex-A72 cores and four 1.7GHz Cortex-A53 cores. There’s 4GB of RAM on board, as well as 64GB of storage. There’s no way to put in additional storage sadly, so you’re stuck with the 64GB capacity. The rear camera has a 13-megapixel sensor, along with a f/2.2 aperture lens.
The tablet has a large 6,600mAh battery, and is decked out with MIUI8. The new tablet is priced at RMB 1499, which equates to around Php 10.9K.
