Xiaomi Goes Premium with the Mi Notebook Pro X

It is no secret that Xiaomi is making its mark on the premium segment, and it does so this time with the 15-inch Mi Notebook Pro X. As its top-tier notebook, the Mi Notebook Pro X stands out for having an OLED display, along with Intel’s 11th-generation CPUs and optional NVIDIA GPUs.

Design-wise, the Mi Notebook Pro X takes cues from previous premium Xiaomi notebooks that include an aluminum body, thin bezels, a large touchpad, and beveled edges. It is considered an ultrabook, as it measures 19mm at its thinnest point and weighs at 1.9kg. The backlit keyboard has a 1.5mm key travel, along with a fingerprint scanner embedded on the power button and a 720p webcam

Going to its standout specs, the Mi Notebook Pro X’s 15.6-inch OLED display has a 3456 x 2160 resolution, 60hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 and sRGB coverage, 600nits peak brightness, and DC dimming. All of that is protected by Gorilla Glass.

Processor options include either a Core i7-11370H or a Core i5-11300H, with both of them equipped with an RTX 3050Ti GPU, dual fan cooling, and a large copper heatsink. The i5 variant gets 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage, while the i7 variant doubles that at 32GB RAM and 1TB internal storage.

As for ports, the Mi Notebook Pro X has a USB-C port, Thunderbolt 4 port, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1 port, and a headphone jack. Powering it is an 80wHr battery with 130w USB-C charging.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro X Price

The Mi Notebook Pro X is priced at CNY 8000(~Php 60.5k) for the Core i5 variant and CNY 10000(~Php 75.6k) for the Core i7 variant. Both models are available for pre-order in China, with regular sales starting on July 9. There’s no word yet if Xiaomi will make it available globally as of this writing.
