Xiaomi Launching Redmi 6 And 6A Next Week

The new budget phones are heading to the Philippines

We knew it was only a matter of time before Xiaomi eventually launches their newest budget phones, the Redmi 6 and 6A in the Philippines. Well, the wait is almost over, as Xiaomi’s local PR reps have sent over invites for the official PH launch of the two new budget devices.

The company is set to launch the two new phones on July 18, though we still don’t have solid pricing details for both. The Redmi 6 and 6A have 5.45 18:9 HD+ displays plus AI capabilities in their cameras.

The Redmi 6 runs MediaTek’s Helio P22 chipset with either 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of expandable storage, while the Redmi 6A runs the Helio A22 chip with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.

The Redmi 6 starts at RMB 799 or around 6.6K in China for the basic 3GB/32GB version,and goes up to RMB 999 or around Php 8.2K for the 4GB/64GB variant. The Redmi 6A starts at RMB 599 or Php 5K for the 2GB/16GB variant.
