And it’s tipped to debut this September 12, during Apple’s iPhone 8 release window.
It’s been a while since we’ve heard news on Xiaomi‘s upcoming bezel-less phablet, the Mi MIX 2. Back in June, Xiaomi confirmed that famed French designer Phillipe Starck will still be designing the next Mi MIX. Earlier in July, the handset allegedly made a quick appearance on GFXBench leaving a few details on its hardware configuration.
Recently, Xiaomi’s founder Lei Jun uploaded a render of the Mi MIX 2 showcasing its screen-to-body ratio, which the rumor mill is speculating to be as high as 95%. In comparison, the first Mi MIX launched with a marketed figure of 91.3% screen-to-body ratio. Looking at the render, only the bottom part of the smartphone will have bezels, and that its display will be following the 18:9 aspect standard similar to LG’s G6’s FullVision panel.
The gossip grapevine is expecting the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 to be unveiled this September 12, during Apple’s iPhone 8 launch month. Supposedly, the 6GB variant of the handset will be sporting a $599 (~Php 30.8K) price tag, while the 8GB version will be pegged at $749 (~Php 38.4K).
