While we expect the POCO F7 Pro as one of the most awaited phones for 2025, we more or less have an idea of its specs and design with the unveiling of the Redmi K80 in China.
Being a flagship killer, the K80 boasts a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is still a powerful chip despite being a generation old. You do get a huge 6550mAh battery inside, which is 1550mAh bigger than the one found on the Redmi K70/POCO F6 Pro. Charging speeds is lower at 90w—and that’s still fast.
It can be configured with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, and you get a dual loop vapor chamber system to keep thermals stable. You get an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, along with an IP68 rating and Gorilla Glass 7i protection.
The K80’s display is a 6.67-inch OLED panel with 12-bit colors, WQHD+ resolution, and 120hz refresh rate. It’s an improved version from the one used on the Redmi K70/POCO F6 Pro where it is approximately 8% more power efficient.
For the cameras, you get a 50-megapixel OVX8000 main camera with OIS that can shoot 8K24 and 4K60 video. The selfie shooter uses a 20-megapixel sensor, while the ultrawide is a basic 8-megapixel shooter—and you get a filler camera.
The Redmi K80 starts at CNY 2500(~Php 20.5k) for the 12GB/256GB model. We expect it to go global as the POCO F7 Pro next year.
