Xiaomi Teases Redmi K50 Pro Design and Features

Xiaomi Teases Redmi K50 Pro Design and Features

Ahead of its launch on March 17, Xiaomi revealed more details about the K50 Pro and Pro+. The teaser images reveal a new design language that’s far different from that of the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. On the Redmi K50 Pro and Pro+, you get a double-step camera module that houses three cameras. One of them is a 108-megapixel main camera as indicated on the branding below them, and we presume that the other two cameras will be an ultra-wide-angle camera and a macro camera.

Instead of using a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the Redmi K50 Pro and Pro+ will be powered by a Dimensity 8100 and Dimensity 9000 processor respectively. The Redmi K50 Pro was spotted in Geekbench with 12GB of RAM and Android 12 out of the box and scored 932 in Single-Core and 3690 in Multi-Core. Compared to the results we got on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered Galaxy S22 Ultra, the Dimensity 8100 beats the Qualcomm chip in multi-core tests.

If that’s not intriguing enough, the Dimensity 9000-powered Redmi K50 Pro+ is said to break the 1 million mark in AnTuTu. The screenshot of the said benchmark score also indicates that the top Redmi K50 variant will have a 1440p display, which is a rarity for any Redmi phone.

Other features teased include being the first phones to support Bluetooth 5.3 and the LC3 audio codec–the latter aiming to improve wireless audio streaming quality over Bluetooth. Both phones will also get dual-band GPS and an IR blaster.
