ZTE Coming Back to the Philippines, Axon 40 Ultra as well?

ZTE is coming back to the Philippines soon, and it seems that the Axon 40 Ultra will be their initial offering.

After years since we last heard them here in the Philippines, ZTE is set to make a comeback soon. Recently, it has sent invites to the media for an event on February 21.

While the invite says that they will be revealing multiple ZTE phones, a few teaser photos reveal that the Axon 40 Ultra will be one of the phones that will be coming to the Philippines.

Initially made official in China last May 2022 (and globally last November 2022), the Axon 40 Ultra features an immersive 6.8-inch 120hz curved AMOLED display that has ZTE’s third-generation under-display camera tech for a clean display that’s free of notches and punch holes. The high-end display supports 10-bit color and 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

The Axon 40 Ultra’s other bragging right is its triple rear camera system that consists of three 64-megapixel sensors: an IMX 787 for both the main and ultra-wide-angle camera, and one for the periscope camera. Being a flagship device, it comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, and the global variant will be available in either 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB variants.

We still don’t know the official price of the Axon 40 Ultra in the Philippines, but the 12GB/256GB variant is priced at $799 at ZTE’s global store, which translates to around Php 44k before taxes and duties.
