ZTE Will Beat Samsung In Announcing A Foldable Phone

The Axon M has two screens that combine to form one

While Samsung has been rumored to have been developing their foldable Galaxy X smartphone for quite a while, it looks like ZTE will beat the Korean company to the punch. A new leak shows off a foldable smartphone that’s rumored to be the Axon M, which has a whole new take on that foldable phone concept.

Instead of a single flexible OLED display, ZTE’s Axon M uses two full HD displays that hopefully has really thin bezels that combine to form one large panel with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,920p and a size of 6.8-inches.

When the phone is folded, you get a display on the rear like the Meizu Pro 7, but a lot bigger. It’s not a black e-ink display either – it’s a full color display that you can use for almost anything – at least, that’s what we hope.

The new phone is codenamed Axon Multy and is expected to launch on October 17. If the rumors are true, it’ll definitely be one of the most unique phones to be released by any company currently – let’s hope that it’s as useful as it sounds in practice.
