It’s Pinoy Pride once again at the 2024 Asia Pacific Predator League Grand Finals, as Filipino Teams Blacklist Rivalry and Team Secret are proclaimed champions for DOTA 2 and Valorant respectively.
Held at Mall of Asia Arena from January 13 to 14, Blacklist Rivalry bested Execration in DOTA 2, while Team Secret dominated against Japanese team FAV in Valorant to become the 2024 Predator League Champions for Asia Pacific.
In its road to winning the DOTA 2 championship, Blacklist Rivalry utilized an Alchemist-Dragon Knight-Spirit Breaker team combo against Execration’s Tiny-Pangolier-Luna lineup. In game 1, Blacklist’s Abed “Abed” Yusop dominated by using Dragon Knight against Kim “Gabbi” Santos’ Spirit Breaker to win convincingly.
In game 2, Blacklist Rivalry went for a Techies-Chen support duo to go against Mark Anthony “Bob” Urbina’s use of Ember Spirit. While Blacklist Rivalry struggled at first, Polo “Raven” Fausto’s Luna helped the team to dominate and win game 2 against Execration.
Blacklist Rivalry takes home $65,000 as this year’s champion, while Execration brings home $20,000
Moving to the Valorant grand finals, FAV gaming got the first map with their pick of Breeze. Matsuyama “bazz” Naoya had a big Four-Kill round to get FAV gaming ahead in the first half, while Noel “NDG” De Guia’s heroics helped Team Secret, close the gap going into the second half.
During the second half, Jeremy ‘Jremy’ Cabrera got himself the first Ace of the series in Round 14. This eventually led Team Secret to take Map 1 with a 12-7 scoreline.
Team Secret went for Haven in Map 2. By the end of the first half, Team Secret dominated FAV gaming with an 11-1 score and eventually dominated Map 2 to seal their victory in Valorant.
Team Secret takes home $65,000 as this year’s champion, while FAV gaming brings home $20,000.
