5 Reasons Why the Samsung Neo QLED 8K TV Is the TV of Your Dreams

Samsung’s been the top TV brand for as long as I can remember, and for good reason – the brand continually pushes the boundaries every time they release a new flagship TV, and their newest offer is no different. I’ve been testing the flagship Samsung Neo QLED 8K (QN800A) for a few weeks now, and I’ve found that it’s really more than just a TV – it’s one of those gadgets that you should be lusting after. Here are 5 reasons why:

The TV’s QLED Technology will blow you away

One of the main selling points of the Samsung Neo QLED TV is its use of the brand’s new Quantum Matrix Technology for the screen, made possible by Mini LED tech. Confused by some of those words? Let me break it down for you: a typical LCD TV uses small LED modules to light LCD pixels to produce color since they can’t do it themselves. These LED modules are often positioned right behind the LCD pixels, and turn on and off depending on the content on the screen.

But because of their size, the light these LEDs produce sometimes bleed into neighboring LCD pixels, producing uneven black levels that lead to halos of light on text and on images that have a back foreground.

This is where Mini LED tech comes in. It’s essentially a more efficient way of backlighting an LCD screen, using significantly smaller LED modules on the back of the LCD panel to produce more even lighting and color. Thanks to this, the TV can better control black and brightness levels to the point that the Neo QLED TV can perform just as well – and sometimes even better – than TVs that use OLED panels without the associated problems that the latter bring like burn-in and so on. The new technology is leveraged by Samsung in their Infinity One Design, which allows them to make display panels with ridiculously small bezels and incredibly thin profiles. Samsung’s new Neo QLED 8K TVs not only produce great images, but it’s also stunning to look at.

You don’t need 8K content to enjoy 8K viewing

One of the great things about Samsung’s new TV is the fact that it’s fully 8K capable. And before you ask, yes, we know that there’s not a lot of 8K content right now, but that doesn’t matter. The TV is able to upscale 4K and heck, even 1080p content to 8K, thanks to its advanced Neo Quantum Processor that uses AI to upscale images.

That means you’ll be able to enjoy the 8K capabilities of the TV when you play games, watch videos on YouTube, or movies through streaming sites like Netflix and the like.

It delivers hi-fi sound quality in a compact package

The Neo QLED TV doesn’t just deliver awesome images – it has a great sound to match too. The TV has a feature called Object Tracking Sound+ (OTS+ for short) that uses ten built-in speakers that fire sound from the top, sides, and bottom of the TV for 3D surround sound. The sound follows whatever’s happening on screen to give you an even immersive experience.

The TV also has SpaceFit sound, which uses an AI sensor to analyze the room it’s in and tweak the sound settings to deliver the best sound quality possible. No more manually tweaking sound settings – the TV will do it for you automatically.

Finally, you can get even an even richer soundstage with Q-Symphony when you pair the TV with a Samsung Q-Soundbar.

It’s one of the best TVs for gaming

If you’re a gamer, the Neo QLED TV is one of the best displays you can get. Aside from the benefits of 8K upscaling, the TV can also instantly transform into an ultra-wide monitor thanks to Samsung’s Super Ultrawide GameView feature.

The premise is simple – since the TV is so big, it can easily accommodate different aspect ratios when gaming, and can easily transform from a 16:9 display to a 21:9 and 32:9 format by adding black bars on the top and bottom.

Because of the excellent black and contrast levels of the TV, those black bars simply disappear when you turn the lights down.

And since the TV doesn’t use an OLED panel, you won’t have to worry about your HUD or status bars burning into the display during extended gaming sessions.

PC gamers will also be happy to know that the TV is a FreeSync Premium certified display, which means your games will run buttery smooth on the TV no matter your frame rate.

You can use it for WFH applications

The Neo QLED TV is great for watching your favorite movies or gaming, and it’s also a pretty nifty WFH tool. You can quickly and easily mirror your phone right on the TV’s screen, giving you a bigger area to work with when you’re talking to your co-workers on the teleconferencing app of your choice. What’s even better is that you can simply connect your PC or desktop to the TV and then use the TV’s MultiView feature to give you more room to multitask, allowing you to listen in on your team’s Monday meeting while working on other things.

The Samsung Neo QLED 8K (QN800A) is one of the best TVs I’ve ever tested, and if you’re the sort of person that values your viewing experience, you should really start saving up for one. The Neo QLED (QN800A) is available in two sizes: 75-inch and 65-inch. The 75-inch version is priced at Php 379,999, while the 65-inch version is priced at Php 219,999.
