Ayaneo Unveils Pocket S at Gamescom 2023

Looks like more gaming handhelds will be utilizing Qualcomm’s gaming-focused Snapdragon G series processors, as Ayaneo unveiled the Pocket S at Gamescom 2023. The reveal is part of its partnership with Qualcomm, with the Pocket S utilizing the top-end Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 processor. The G3x Gen 2 has 8 Kryo cores, an Adreno A32 GPU, FastConnect 7800 5G modem, and support for Full HD+ 144hz displays, WiFi 7, and Ray Tracing.

To be made available in either white or black, the Pocket S has a compact design with two analog joysticks, directional pad, and shoulder buttons. The gaming handheld has a flat with ergonomic curves on the area of the shoulder triggers. Being part of Ayaneo’s Pocket series, the Pocket S is an Android gaming handheld, so you will be installing games from the Google Play Store.

Despite using a Snapdragon processor for the first time, Ayaneo claims that it will come with X86-level heat dissipation that should keep it performing well as a high-end Android gaming handheld.  Ayaneo did not mention other specs, but promised that the Pocket S will have a long battery life and multiple configuration options to suit the needs of gamers.

Being only a reveal at Gamescom 2023, Ayaneo will officially launch the Pocket S at December 2023.
