Ahead of the 2022 National Elections, COMELEC wants to make voter’s registration accessible to everyone, which is why it launched its Mobile Registration App today.

The COMELEC Mobile Registration App, which can be downloaded here and is currently available only for Android, aims to make voters registration accessible to any smartphone even when offline.

“The launch of the mobile app is very timely in the face of mobility restrictions brought about by COVID-19 because you will only need a smartphone to accomplish the form. This will save time, effort, and money that will otherwise be spent on going to a computer shop to download and print the form, or getting the form at the local COMELEC to fill it out manually,” Commissioner Marlon Casquejo said.

One you download the app, here’s what you need to do to register for the upcoming elections:

1. Open the app and tap “Get Started”;

2. Select the desired type of application and tap “Proceed”;

3. Input all necessary personal information;

4. Confirm all these details and tick the confirm box;

5. Tap “Generate QR Code” and “Save” once done to save the QR code in your phone gallery;

6. Bring a valid ID upon visiting your local COMELEC office to scan the QR code that was generated through the app.

With the app, the procedure for voters registration is going to be streamlined, with the next step involving visiting your nearest COMELEC office for your biometrics.

While it might take a while to download the app due to internet traffic, the COMELEC Mobile Registration App will initially work in more than 500 cities and municipalities that include NCR, Cebu City, and Davao City. Given that it is limited to Android devices, COMELEC will likewise make the app available via Google Play Store and will eventually make an iOS version of the app.
