With more organizations and businesses fast-tracking their digital transformation as a result of the pandemic, cybersecurity is a more pressing concern to everyone. With that in mind, Trend Micro hosted DECODE 2021 online, with thousands of cybersecurity professionals attending to discuss all these issues and how they can work together to make the digital world a safe place.
DECODE 2021 is a three-day virtual conference, and the first day was opened by four keynote speakers, namely:
- Trend Micro Director of Global Operations for Managed XDRÂ Jay Yaneza
- FBI Cyber Division Intelligence Analyst Lauren Seawright
- Cybercrime Directorate of INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI) Shane Cross
- Meralco VP and Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Mel Migriño
In the keynote sessions, Yaneza emphasized that it is important to make critical-yet-timely decisions in dealing with cybersecurity threats, while Seawright shared their agency’s insights on how ransomware has evolved in the Philippines and globally through the years, and how companies are working to address these attacks.
Cross supports Seawright’s keynote with her discussion of how INTERPOL’s cybercrime division coordinates with international governments to deal with all the cybercrimes that occur during the pandemic, while Migriño explains the importance of Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) in any company to ensure their safety against cybercrimes.
