DITO is finally rolling out its 5G services with the announcement of its 5G Home WiFi Kit. In line with the rollout, DITO said that it will be conducting a pilot program in 146 barangays in Manila, Caloocan, and Quezon City.
Those interested to get its 5G Home WiFi kit can purchase it at DITO Experience stores in Greenhills, SM Manila, SM North EDSA, and Robinsons Galleria.
The starter kit is priced at Php 12,990Â and includes a 5G WiFi modem, 50GB consumable all-access data, and 3 months of HBO GO. Data packs are available in 50GB, 100GB, 170GB, and 250GB for Php 590, Php 990, Php 1490, and Php 1990 respectively. To entice customers, DITO will be offering double data across all four data packages.
With the official rollout of its 5G connectivity, DITO promises speeds of as high as 500Mbps at a starting price of Php 590/mo for the 50GB data pack. Tracking data usage is done via the DITO app.
DITO’s pricing of its 5G Home WiFi aims to be competitive against the Smart Bro Home WiFi 5G. While it may appear to be more affordable than Smart’s offering, it remains to see how good is DITO’s coverage in Metro Manila, along with how long can it sustain its 5G download speeds.
