A huge infrastructure project is set to begin next month. The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has announced its newest project in the South, which is the Laguna Lakeshore Road Network (LLRN).
DPWH Acting Secretary Roger G. Mercado, Undersecretary for the Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) Operations Emil K. Sadain, and Department Chief Accountant Mary Antoinette Z. Puno were all present to sign the consultant’s services contract of Detailed Engineering Design (D.E.D.) for the LLRN project.
“This early, the millions of Filipinos are excited to witness and see how this new road project will change lives,” said Mercado.
Phase 1 of the Laguna Lakeshore Road Network Project (LLRN) will create a road network at the side of Laguna Lake. This road will connect Lower Bicutan, Taguig City, and Calamba City, Laguna, spanning a total of 37.60 kilometers. Moreover, there will be eight interchanges located in Sucat, Alabang, Tunasan, San Pedro/Binan, Santa Rosa, Cabuyao, and Calamba. LRRN will also have a cycling track and a promenade from Tunasan, Muntinlupa to San Pedro, Laguna.
According to UPMO Operations Emil K. Sadain, “The LLRN Project will strengthen road transport efficiency towards Metro Manila and neighboring regions and will provide added opportunities to stakeholders –more jobs will be created; traffic will be decongested; movement of goods and services will be a lot easier; and so much more benefits.”
