ECHO Emerges as Grand Champion at MPL Philippines Season 11

MPL Philippines Season 11 concluded yesterday (May 7), with ECHO besting defending champions Blacklist International with a 4-0 sweep in a best-of-seven series. As a result, the ECHO Orcas take home the lion’s share of the $150,000 prize pool, and a ticket to the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023 happening in Phnom Penh from June 10 to 18 2023.

The grand finals of MPL Philippines Season 11 between Blacklist International and ECHO were well-received. It welcomed over 5,000 offline spectators and onlookers who watched the match outside the main hall through LED screens. According to analytics partner Esports Charts, MPL Philippines Season 11 had a peak viewership o 935,948 viewers, beating Season 10’s peak views at 800,000.

Both Blacklist International and ECHO will represent the Philippines to the MSC 2023, which will welcome for the first time teams from three new regions: North America, Turkey, and MENA. Early this year, ECHO and Blacklist International also represented the country in the recent M4 World Championship and snatched the Champion and 1st runner-up titles respectively. Sanford Vinuya was awarded the Grand Finals’ most valuable player (MVP).

Other highlights of MPL Philippines Season 11 Grand Finals include the induction of Edward “EDWARD” Dapadap to the prestigious Hall of Legends. Other awards given include Regular Season MVP to Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo, Rookie of the Season to Kenneth Carl “Yue” Tadeo, Best English Caster to Renmar “Reptar” Sta. Cruz, and Best Filipino Caster to Caisam Yvez “Wolf” Nopueto.
