ePLDT is setting the standard in the Asia Pacific region by developing class-leading VITRO hyper-scale data centers. In fact, ePLDT has one of the largest network of data centers in the Philippines.

ePLDT’s longstanding commitment to help the government bring in more economic opportunities is seen with how its data centers helped towards economic growth. This is seen with job creation. One example of this is with how Google indirectly supported over 110,000 jobs in the Philippines by expanding its business by using ePLDT’s VITRO data centers. 

The VITRO data center in Sta. Rosa, Laguna is ePLDT’s biggest and most ambitious data center to date, designed with LEED standards in mind. It comes with innovative features like rainwater collection, wastewater reuse, renewable energy use, and the lowest realistic power usage effectiveness (PUE) for the Philippines. This data center also has multiple connections to PLDT’s domestic and international fiber networks, and is resistant to power outages and natural disasters

With ePLDT’s data center efforts, the Philippines is expected to attract more hyperscalers and global enterprises than its ASEAN neighbors in the data center market between 2020 and 2025, with a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 13%. This is due to the growth of the online gaming industry, outsourcing, BPO, and the adoption of cloud, big data, and IoT.
