Gogoro’s First PH Showroom Gives Us a Glimpse of the E-Bike Future

Taiwanese ridesharing company Gogoro has taken its first real steps in entering the Philippines, as it unveiled a store in Makati on Tuesday, November 7, to prepare for an upcoming commercial launch.

Gogoro, brought locally through a joint venture between it, Globe’s 917Ventures, and Ayala Corporation showed off a range of electric battery-powered Smartscooters at the new space on the second floor of Greenbelt 4. Among those to be featured were the Gogoro S1, Gogoro SuperSport, Gogoro Delight, and Gogoro Viva.

Those who visit the site can check out Gogoro’s e-scooters and experience what it feels like to use them by taking a test ride and trying out the vehicles’ battery-swapping system. Gogoro claims that users can swap batteries for as fast as 6 seconds.

“With the opening of our first Gogoro Experience Center (GEC), we are not just unveiling a store, we are opening the doors to the next chapter of mobility in the Philippines. Filipinos are invited to step in, explore, and be a part of this transformative journey towards a smarter and cleaner urban commute,” Gogoro Philippines President Bernie Llamzon said.

Gogoro’s GEC is open from 11:00AM to 9:00PM from Sunday to Thursday and 11:00AM to 10:00PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Anyone interested in taking a test ride can visit Gogoro’s Philippine website.

Pricing and availability for Gogoro’s products have yet to be announced. Still, the company claimed details for some of its models, including ones that will become available early next year, will be revealed on December 1.
