Google has just released its most search keywords and terms in the Philippines as part of its Year in Search 2023, and SIM Registration is among the terms that topped the list. It’s the most searched term in Google in 2023 as everyone is mandated to register their phone numbers under the country’s SIM Registration Law.
Being the most searched term in 2023, Filipinos went to Google to know more about SIM registration, with some of the common queries including tutorials on how to register their numbers.
Moving to sports, Filipinos searched a lot about the Lakers vs Warriors rivalry, which ignited excitement in the NBA. As for TV shows, Maria Clara at Ibarra made it to the Top 10 in a list that’s dominated by mostly KDrama shows.
As for movies, Oppenheimer topped the search queries of Filipinos, with Barbie placing third. While Barbie is on top when you look at the global Google Year in Search 2023, Filipinos wanted to know more about Oppenheimer’s story beyond what was shown in the biopic.
TV shows and movies on streaming platforms earned more places on this year’s lists, which lines up with the steady growth of online media consumption as projected in this year’s eConomy SEA Report.
