As Pride Month comes to a close, diversity and inclusive employment continue. Cherry, for one, values people from all walks of life, with different backgrounds and perspectives to create a space where new ideas and approaches can flourish, making the Filipino company a major participant in Pride Month when it comes to promoting gender equality in the workplace.
“There is a sense of family where everyone feels they belong, regardless of our gender identity.” Marra Lanot from Cherry’s PR department said.
As a competitive and forward-thinking company, Cherry believes that it is vital to create an environment that appreciates and respects individuals for their unique qualities and perspectives. This creates opportunities for staff to socialize, get to know each other, and strengthen their teamwork.
For Cherry Digital Marketing Specialist Thanya Santelices, it is easier to come up with a big idea when everyone is comfortable enough to speak up. “Our diverse workforce brings a wide range of viewpoints to the table, and this is a big help when it comes to overcoming challenges,” she adds.
This is much felt by Operations Supervisor Macky Lamoca, who is under the Venture Development department and has worked with Cherry for almost 4 years. Lamoca shares that what he likes about the work culture at Cherry is that his colleagues allow him to be himself without any prejudice. “Through respect and empathy, everyone is able to exhibit their full potential, which improves their teamwork.”
Overall, Cherry is very supportive of its employees: aside from promoting work-life balance, it values gender equality a lot to foster great work culture.
