A total of 102 renowned automotive journalists have chosen the 11th generation Honda Civic as one of the finalists in the 2022 World Car of the Year.
The humble civic from East Asia now has a chance to be crowned as the world’s best car for this year. Thanks to the juries from 33 countries who considered the new model as worthy. The 2022 Honda Civic features a more upscale appearance, an updated powertrain, and a more comfortable cabin among others.
Although the Honda Civic has already won the 2022 North American Car of the Year, which makes it a strong contender in WCOTY, the competitors are just as great if not even better. Check out the list of the candidates below.

For the first time ever, there will be an additional segment which is the World Electric Vehicle of the Year. This segment will recognize, support, and celebrate the global transition to electrically-powered vehicles. It will also acknowledge the efforts of automakers in developing the much-needed vehicles to help save the environment.

The top three Car of the Year contenders will be announced on March 15th, while the winner will be revealed at the New York show on April 13th.
