How to Buy Single-Journey LRT-1 Tickets via Maya App

While you can use Maya to load your BEEP card for your public transportation needs, they have rolled out a new feature that allows you to buy single-journey LRT-1 tickets on the app itself–and let you use QR tickets to take advantage of the Fast Lanes that are found in all LRT-1 stations. Being a new feature–it has gone live on the Maya app as of this writing–we break down the steps on how to buy single-journey LRT-1 tickets via the Maya App.

Trust us: it’s simple and straightforward, and can save you minutes from lining up at an LRT-1 station to buy single-journey tickets.

How to Buy Single-Journey LRT-1 Tickets via Maya App

  • Open your Maya App and head to Lifestyle–LRT-1
  • Select your route (Northbound or Southbound)
  • Set your origin and destination
  • Pay and receive your QR ticket
  • Scan QR ticket to any LRT-1 fare gates with QR Scanner

 

Open your Maya App and head to Lifestyle–LRT-1

Since this is a new feature, you will need to tap the four square icon on the Maya app and scroll to the Lifestyle tab. From there, you can find the LRT-1 option. There are no options for other public transport services as of this writing–though Maya might expand its coverage in future iterations of the app.

Select your route (Northbound or Southbound), origin, and destination

From there, you simply need to input the type of single-journey ticket you want to purchase. You first indicate if you are going northbound or southbound, then you specify your origin and destination.

 

Pay and receive your QR ticket

Once you’re set with your ticket, you can pay for it using your Maya wallet. Do note that there’s a Php 2 convenience fee per single-journey ticket–which is a relatively small price to pay to save you time from lining up at an LRT-1 station to buy a single-journey ticket.

Scan QR ticket to any LRT-1 fare gates with QR Scanner

Once you have your QR ticket saved on your phone, all you have to do is find the Maya Fast Lane gate at any LRT-1 station and use the QR scanner to scan it. Once confirmed, you’re good to go with your commute.
