How To Register With PhilSys: Everything You Need To Know About The National ID

Before the Philippine Identification System Act (or Philsys for short) that was made possible by Republic Act 11055, the Philippines did not have a unified identification system. But now that a national ID system is available, the government is urging citizens to register for it to make transactions requiring a government ID easier, faster, and better. Here is how you can register for Philsys and get a national ID in 2021:

How To Register for PhilSys

  1. Go to www.register.philsys.gov.ph and fill out the application form
  2. Bring your national ID requirements
  3. Visit your designated registration center
  4. Wait for the delivery of your national ID

The first step in registering for your Philsys ID is to visit www.register.philsys.gov.ph and fill out an application form. When filling out the form, make sure that all information is accurate. After you finish filling out the forms, you will be directed to a page where you will choose your preferred appointment date. In this stage, you will also receive a copy of your Application Reference Number. The ARN is what you’ll present when you arrive at the designated registration center.

Visit the PhilSys website for a list of all provinces, cities, and municipalities open for online appointments. You can also check with your local government unit if there is a designated registration center in your area.

Here are the following requirements you need to bring when going to the designated registration center:

  • PSA issued birth certificate
  • Government-issued identification document which has your full name, front-facing photograph, and your signature or thumbprint
  • Philippine passport
  • Driver’s license or student permit

If you don’t have these particular documents you may use the following as alternatives:

  • LCRO-issued Certificate of Live Birth
  • PSA-issued Report of Birth
  • PSA-issued Certificate of Foundling
  • Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Identification Card
  • Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) ID
  • Seaman’s Book
  • Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) ID
  • Senior Citizen’s ID
  • SSS ID
  • Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) ID
  • License to Own or Possess Firearms (LTOPF) ID
  • NBI Clearance
  • Police Clearance/ID
  • Solo Parent’s ID
  • PWD ID
  • Voter’s ID
  • Postal ID
  • Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) ID
  • PhilHealth ID
