Huwaei Has Spent $62.5 Billion On R&D In The Last 10 Years

Chinese brand Huawei is no stranger to spending large amounts of money for innovation, but the amount that the company spends on fueling this drive is mind-boggling. The company spent a record $13.8 billion on R&D last year putting them at the top of the pile in terms of spending.

In fact, Huawei has managed to spend a massive $62.5 billion on R&D in the past 10 years. That isn’t surprising considering that the company has around 16 R&D centers worldwide, in various cities like Paris, Shenzen, Beijing, and more.

A Tour Of Huawei’s Beijing R&D Center

Huawei’s efforts into R&D has produced notable consumer tech, including their AI-enabled Kirin 970, the first mobile processor in the world with a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), and the world’s first triple-rear camera module in the form of the P20 Pro.

The company is also looking into Cloud Computing, Internet-of-Things as well as 5G technology which is expected to debut next year.
