iPhone 15 Series to Launch on September 12

It’s official: Apple has confirmed that the iPhone 15 series will launch on September 12 (US Time) with the theme “Wanderlust”.

We know a lot about the upcoming iPhone 15 series, and one of the big changes that’s expected to occur is its shift to USB-C from Lightning. There might be a catch though: only the iPhone 15 Pro series will get USB 3.1 speeds–the non-pro models (which include the Plus) will settle for USB 2.0 standards.

While the lineup is expected to consist of the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max, there are reports that an iPhone 15 Ultra might exist as well. The gradient play on the Apple logo in the launch poster is speculated to reference the possible color options for the entire iPhone 15 series.

Design changes are expected as well: the entire iPhone 15 series will be using a Dynamic Island, and the mute switch will be replaced by a programmable action button. As for the build, the non-Pro models will have a stainless steel frame, while the Pro models will go for a titanium frame–a rarity for Apple, as the last time we recall them using titanium was with the PowerBook G4 Titanium in the early 2000s.

Aside from the iPhone 15 series, other products that are expected to be unveiled include the Watch Series 9, Watch Ultra 2, and an. updated AirPods Pro with USB-C.
