Johanna Serrano Selected as TECNO Movie Masters 2021 Grand Winner

A month after the announcement of its Movie Masters program, TECNO announced during its awarding ceremony last December 11 that Filipino filmmaker Johanna Serrano was proclaimed as the grand winner for her film Bukidnon: An Eco Adventure. In her film Serrano takes her audience on a tour to the province of Bukidnon, sharing raw and authentic moments that she experiences during the trip.

As the Grand Winner of the TECNO Movie Masters, Serrano received a Php 300,000 film grant, along with the chance to create a short film together with top local director Paul Soriano and the TEN17P team. The film, which will be released globally this December, will take a look back at the past year, and show how Filipinos are capable of overcoming challenges that may shake them, in order to live a steady life with the promise of a stable and beautiful future.

On top of this, Serrano is also named as one of two TECNO 2022 Tourism Ambassadors, with Felix Ablao Jr. being the other ambassador. Ablao submitted the best steadiest video entry for the Shaky Video Championship on Facebook. Both Ablat and Serrano received Holiday Travel Funds amounting to Php 40,000.

In his message to the finalists, Soriano said that the tech found on the Camon 18 Premier makes it a great tool for capturing and telling stories. “We have the freedom that we all want when we tell our stories. The creative freedom. It’s really just you, and the Camon 18 Premier, and your stories. What else do you need?” Soriano said.
