First off, Fiber. The company’s fiber to the home service, Fibr, has been highly sought after by many since it’s one of the fastest and most affordable options in the market today. According to MVP, the company is targeting to reach around 4.4 million homes by the end of 2017 – that’s 4.4 million homes with fiber optics tech, as well as giving around 1.7 million DSL lines with fiber-like speeds. By 2018, PLDT is looking at making all PLDT broadband subscribers on fiber connections and if that’s not possible, they’ll at least be on fiber-fast connections.
On track. By end-2018, 95% of PH cities & municipalities w/ Smart LTE. All PLDT broadband subs will be on fiber or fiber-fast connections.
