New Pixel Fold Renders Highlight Thick Bezels on Inner Display

With Google expected to announce its first foldable at its I/O conference on May 10, new renders of the Pixel Fold have surfaced thanks to EVLeaks, where we get a better look at both the outside and inside through these allegedly official renders.

On the outside, the Pixel Fold will have a more compact version of the camera bar that Google has been using for the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series. You do get a triple rear camera setup, with the third camera appearing to be a periscope module.

The Pixel Fold is going for the compact approach similar to the Find N2 with its 5.8-inch outer display, which should make it easier to hold than bigger foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold4. The punch-hole on the out display has a 9.5-megapixel camera with dual pixels–meaning it will most likely have autofocus. As for the inner display, the renders  confirm that the Pixel Fold will have thick top and bottom bezels–with the top bezel concealing the front camera–which is allegedly a 8-megapixel sensor–with for an obstruction-free inner display that allegedly measures 7.6 inches and has a 2208×1840 resolution.

According to EVLeaks, the Pixel Fold will weight around 283g and its have a inch thick when folded. Despite being thinner than other foldables, the Pixel Fold will have an IPX8 rating–which is as good as the Galaxy Z Fold4. Its USB-C port is a 3.2 Gen 2 variety, which means that it should accept display output as well on top of higher transfer speeds.

The Pixel Fold will be priced at around $1000-1250, which is at par with most foldables in the market–though it remains to be seen how wide will it be its availability.
